Food Sensations® for Adults is a FREE nutrition and cooking program that is hands on, fun and provides a safe environment to learn new recipes and skills.

The program is open to organisations with established groups, the general public and to Community Resource Centres via video conferencing. Food Sensations for Adults is funded by the WA Department of Health.

The program consists of 4 sessions (no one-off) and is usually run over 4 weeks (participants must attend ALL 4 sessions). All sessions are hands-on, fun and provide a safe environment to try new recipes and skills. Each session is approximately 2 hours in length, this includes education, activities, cooking and eating delicious, healthy food.

WHY come to a Food Sensations for Adults program?

  • Learn to cook a range of delicious, budget-friendly, healthy meals like curries, burgers, nachos, pastas, salads and desserts.
  • Learn about a variety of nutrition topics including healthy eating, label reading, budgeting, meal planning, lunchboxes and snacks, healthy mind, healthy body, supermarket tours and gardening for health (where available).
  • Have your nutrition questions answered by nutritionists and dietitians.
  • You get a free lunch, meet new friends and often get leftovers to take home.

Program structure

Session 4 – Cooking and an optional topic from the following:

  • Lunch boxes and snacks
  • Supermarket tour
  • Healthy mind, healthy body
  • Gardening for health (available at select locations)
